The everyday objects we make offer a positive alternative to the products you use on a daily basis. In this way you can share the things you need for daily life with someone who really needs it to live.
Did you know that it only costs a few cents to feed someone for a whole day? That's what our founder Sebastian learned while working for the United Nations' World Food Program (WFP) coordinating food supplies to crisis areas across the whole world.
Did you know that it only costs a few cents to feed someone for a whole day? That's what our founder Sebastian learned while working for the United Nations' World Food Program (WFP) coordinating food supplies to crisis areas across the whole world.
“Wouldn't we all be prepared to pay such a small amount if there was a way to do so?", Sebastian thought, developing the donation app ShareTheMeal with a WFP colleague, which allows users to donate 70 cents at just the click of a button and provides a child with food for a whole day.
But what if you don't have your mobile to hand or if you forget to make the donation? So along with the other share founders, Ben, Iris and Tobi, Sebastian came up with the idea to incorporate donations in everyday products.
In 2018, the four founders turned the idea into reality, bringing the first share products to market in the form of bottled water, nut bars and soap – everyday purchases that people can do good with easily, automatically and without delay. And so, with every bottle of water, a day's worth of drinking water is donated, a meal for every snack bar and a hygiene product or service for every bar of soap.
Since then, much has happened, but the mission remains the same – to offer positive alternatives for all those products we use every day. And now, we have over 100 of them. Besides drinking water, food and hygiene, you can also do good when you go shopping now by giving the gift of education.
In the meantime, our team has also grown to over 100 “sharies” as we like to call ourselves. and we work tirelessly every day to add lots more products, so that together we can help even more people who are in need of support. Thank you for taking part!
