With your purchase you donate emergency food for young children in Somalia. Together with our partner Action Against Hunger, we aim to reach at least 60,000 children suffering from severe acute malnutrition. Thanks to your support, the children can be provided with meals for several weeks.
How we help
Aktion gegen den Hunger provides meals to at least 60,000 children under the age of five in this project. This is therapeutic ready-to-eat food that can be consumed directly without preparation. The food consists of a peanut paste enriched with vitamins and minerals. To overcome the state of malnutrition, a child needs about 150 of these meals over a period of 6-8 weeks. Accordingly, we aim to distribute a total of at least 10 million meals as part of the project. In addition, Aktion gegen den Hunger supports the mothers with weekly nutrition training. This is intended to establish healthy and balanced eating habits. In addition, there are regular check-ups for the young children.
Each share snack product helps a person in need with a meal. In Somalia, share, in cooperation with Aktion gegen den Hunger and its partner the EU (European Union), supports the life-saving treatment of malnourished children. In our projects, we team up with experts in the field from Action Against Hunger and their
partner the EU (European Union) with the goal of increasing the number of malnourished children treated in Somalia. share co-finances part of the funds for the treatments, the EU also covers the infrastructure and personnel costs and Action Against Hunger is on the ground treating the children.
Aktion gegen den Hunger does not endorse any products or services. share gives 10 Cents of each sold snack product to Action Against Hunger. Within the
framework of the cooperation, this amount is multiplied by the EU, so that one person in need receives a meal for every snack product sold. This supports the project with 20 cents per meal to provide emergency food.
